Project Overview
SouKep B2B is an internal management application for bus travel agencies, covering two business lines: passenger and baggage transport, and express parcel shipping. It runs across a network of three agencies (Yaoundé, Bangangté, Bafoussam) served by a single line with an intermediate stop.
Business Challenges & Key Features
- Segment-based sales: Sell partial trips (e.g. Bangangté → Bafoussam) on a bus covering the whole line, with fixed per-segment fares and sales allowed only from the boarding agency.
- Controlled round trips: Two linked bookings on strictly reversed segments, with the return limited to 7 days after departure (enforced in both API and UI).
- Baggage traceability: Check-in with QR code, weighing and claim tag, boarding scan (alert if the passenger is missing), and return via a cross-scan of bag and tag.
- Express parcels: Registration with a QR label, scans at every step (received, in transit, arrived), automatic SMS pickup code, and delivery after code verification.
- Low-connectivity areas: Offline mode with deferred sync so staff can keep working without a connection.
Technical Architecture
- NestJS + Prisma + PostgreSQL backend: Domain-based modular API (bookings, baggage, parcels, buses, scans, transactions, SMS), JWT authentication and role-based access control (agency manager, cashier, courier service, baggage handler, super admin).
- Native Android app (React + Capacitor): React frontend packaged as APK/AAB and distributed internally, with role-specific dashboards and PDF tickets.
- Zebra terminals (DataWedge): Baggage and parcel QR codes read directly from built-in scanners.
- Offline-first: Local sync queue backed by IndexedDB.
- Infrastructure: Docker Compose (PostgreSQL, Redis, MinIO, API, Nginx with SSL) and 23 end-to-end tests covering business rules (seats, segments, fares, round trips).
